Role Summary
The Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and compliant environment for customers, employees, vendors, and visitors at the dispensary. This position protects company assets, monitors access to the facility, enforces security procedures, and helps ensure compliance with all applicable Ohio cannabis regulations and company policies. Security Guards serve as the first point of contact for visitors and are expected to provide professional customer service while maintaining a vigilant security presence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Monitor all entrances, exits, parking areas, and surrounding property.
• Verify identification and age requirements before allowing customer entry, in accordance with Ohio law and company policies.
• Control access to restricted areas and ensure only authorized personnel enter secure locations.
• Monitor security cameras, alarm systems, and other surveillance equipment.
• Conduct routine security patrols of the interior and exterior of the facility.
• Respond promptly to emergencies, disturbances, suspicious activity, and security incidents.
• Prepare detailed incidents and daily activity reports.
• Assist with opening and closing security procedures.
• Observe and report safety hazards, maintenance issues, and policy violations.
• Assist with product deliveries by maintaining secure access and monitoring receiving activities.
• Work cooperatively with management and law enforcement when necessary.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding company operations, security procedures, and customer information.
• Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a professional security presence.
• Enforce company policies in a respectful and consistent manner.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Able to pass a state of Ohio background check.
• Previous security, military, or law enforcement experience preferred.
• Must have a valid State-Issued ID or U.S. Passport.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Current Ohio security officer registration or ability to obtain required licensing, if applicable.
• CPR/First Aid certification preferred.
• Strong observation, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and make sound decisions during emergencies.
• Basic computer skills and experience completing reports.
• Availability to work nights and weekends.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to respond quickly during emergencies.
• Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled.

Employees must comply with all applicable Ohio cannabis laws, company policies, and security

protocols. The Security Guard is expected to maintain confidentiality and uphold the highest

standards of professionalism and integrity
